About Color Match
The Color Match app is used for selecting appropriate matching colors. This is mostly intended for fashion coordination but can also be used for interior decorating, graphic design, weaving, Christmas tree lights, etc....
The Color Match app is used for selecting appropriate matching colors. This is mostly intended for fashion coordination but can also be used for interior decorating, graphic design, weaving, Christmas tree lights, etc.
The app uses four color matching strategies:
- matching different shades of the same hue
- adjacent colors which are 30 degrees apart on the color wheel
- complementary colors which are 180 degrees apart on the color wheel
- contrasting colors lying 120 degrees apart on the color wheel
The user first selects their basic color on a detailed color wheel. Then they then can toggle between the four matching strategies.
The app will display up to three matching colors on a swaths page that allows varying the darkness shades till an ideal match is identified. The Pantone shade closest to yur selection can now be chosen.
There is also a handy reference section explaining the theory and practice of color matching.
The Color Match app is fun and easy to use.
